A Columbus couple has combined their love of cooking and making gourmet ice cream to open a unique Westside Shop selling freshly made ice cream, entrees to eat in or take out, lunches and desserts. Tony and Jean House opened Dags Homemade Ice Cream and Desserts, featuring Bertie Jean’s Foods at West Hill Shopping Center on Jonathan Moore Pike.

The venture offers a new direction and challenge for the couple that has been married 21 years. Tony was a social worker and Jean worked in various corporate positions throughout her career.

They owned DAGS in Nashville, IN for 12 years, with Tony making the ice cream and Jean working in the corporate world. Three years ago Jean began a Personal Chef business and in 2007, Jean and Tony decided to combine the two ventures in their new Columbus shop. The Columbus shop offers Tony’s wonderful homemade ice cream and Jean’s foods, available for eat in or take out.
